Welcome to Home Girls online (we barely made it)!
I've never really thought of myself as a procrastinator. Turns out, I sort of am one. I'm more of a I'll-wait-until-it's-way-past-"time"-but-I-can-still-get-it-done-under-the-wire sort of gal. Because it's apparently fun for me to cause myself undue stress. It's really not, btw.)
I've known for awhile now that I needed to start a website for my business. I knew that it was a smart business decision. I also knew that it was going to be a lot of work. So, I chose to put it off as long as I possibly could. Just living my truth, basically.
Slow business at the start of the year allowed my enough time on my hands to jump in head first to creating my own website. That same slow business did not allow me to hire someone to create it for me. Also, I'm a control freak so I'd pity anyone who I might have hired to do the job.
And so I began...
Mere words don't do the first day justice. I am a gen x-er with zero experience in computer work. I've never had a desk job. And any computer knowledge I had was with programs that were designed specifically for the companies for which I worked.
What the devil is an SEO? Do I own a domain? How many pixels are in my photos? How many gigs does my computer have????? I. Don't. Know. Thank goodness I know a handful of folks who could help me answer these questions. THANK GOODNESS!!
Long (and pathetic) story short, I did it. I made my own website!
I'm excited to share Home Girls with everyone who stops by! And, I hope to have lots and lots more inventory in the future. I will also get back to blogging which I have missed doing so stay tuned for those updates!
